We're a UK coffee site with a simple belief: you don't need an expensive machine to make genuinely great coffee at home. A £30 moka pot, a cafetière or an AeroPress will get you most of the way there — if you buy the right one and use it well.
Who writes MokaPot.co.uk
Fifteen years on, coffee has gone from travel necessity to daily obsession. These days David brews on a rotation of trusty moka pots and a well-worn eight-year-old Sage espresso machine, and he hand-roasts his own beans over an open flame using a traditional Japanese houroku roasting pan, for coffee that's as fresh as it gets. That mix of everyday moka-pot use and hands-on, bean-to-cup obsession is exactly what shapes the recommendations here: practical advice from someone who actually lives with this gear, not a spec sheet.
Why we exist
Buying coffee gear online is confusing. There are hundreds of near-identical moka pots, dozens of "best" lists that all recommend whatever pays the most, and endless jargon about bars of pressure and burr sets. We started MokaPot.co.uk to cut through it — to say plainly which stovetop, manual and filter coffee makers are worth your money in the UK, and which aren't, so you can buy once and enjoy it for years.
What we cover
We focus on the affordable, machine-free ways to make excellent coffee: moka pots and other stovetop brewers, AeroPress, cafetières and French presses, pour over, and the grinders and coffee that get the best from them.
